Long Shadows Vintners was recently named Food & Wine’s Winery of the Year…so as you might expect, the quality is pretty damn good.  Full disclosur, we’ve shipped their wines in both of our red wine clubs already, so we’re fans.

Long Shadows Vintners is a different kind of project, the goal is to bring some of the top winemakers in the world and have them make a Washington wine, usually their first Washington wine.  Household names like Phillpe Melka from Napa Valley and consulting winemaker to the stars Michele Rolland are winemakers for the project which was organized by Allen Shoup who was the CEO of Cheateau St Michelle, until 2000 when he left the post in large part to start Long Shadows Vintners.

If you’re someone who buys wine by score more than anything else, Long Shadows Vintners is probably the highest scoring winery in the state of Washington in virtually each and every vintage.  It’s worth a look, without a doubt.
