Founded by Mike Redmond Acacia is a household name for many that love Pinot Noir at least partially because it was among the first wineries to call Carneros home.  Carneros is an interesting region on a few levles, not the least of which being it’s shared status as part of both Napa Valley and Sonoma, but also because it is Napa Valley’s only real home for cool climate Pinot Noir.

It’s also perhaps the easiest spot in Napa to reach from San Francisco, as it happens to be the furthest south.

Now owned by beverage giant Diageo, production has crept up in the 50,000 case level still lead by their Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Although Acacia is simply too well and established to be part of one of our wine clubs, the quality has been incredibly consistent given the production size and corporate ownership.
