A parnership between winemaker Elizabeth Pressler & distributor Spencer Graham (the wineries that are opened by distributor’s or at least those folks, with sales contacts that good, tend to do well, especially at first when they have a very real advantage for placements).

Winemaker Matthew Rorick, who is best known for his Forlorn Hope wine (and whose second label, Dexter Lake we’ve shipped in the past) started and worked as the consulting winemaker at the label until 2010, at which point the winery transitioned to having Graham handle the winemaking responsibilities himself.

Quality has been good and the tasting room in Rutherford has a nice outdoor area, which helps bring in enough foot traffic to have the brand continue its growth. Elizabeth Spencer tends to focus on Cabernet Sauvignon, offering a handful of different versions of the varietal from a variety of vineyard sources in and around Napa, but they also offer a single wine at least, of Chardonnay, Grenache, Pinot Noir, Syrah and even Petite Sirah.  There’s a lot to taste and a lot to like here.

We’ve previously worked with Elizabeth Spencer for our red wine clubs and will likely do so again in the future.
