Anderson Valley: Located about 100 miles north of San Francisco, the Anderson Valley is one of thenew darlings of the cool climate grape movement in America.  A relative newcomber to the California wine scene, Anderson Valley saw some initial plantings in the 70’s and has only now started to see a second wave of wineries opening. From the mid 1990’s vintners in Napa Valley and Sonoma consistntly sourced fruit from Anderson Valley with much success, often including a single vineyard tag in their wines. Known for both Alsace varietals as well as the ubiquitous Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley is an intriguing spot to look into for any wine lover, especially those looking for Burgundy in America.
