Joseph Phelps is owned by a Colorado construction manager, Joseph Phelps….which I’m guessing you could have guessed. He helped to build the winery that has since been named Rutherford Hill (it’s known for its Merlot and quite honestly, was one of the wines that my wife and I, when we first started to enjoy a bottle of wine: LOVED).

The winery does boast a flagship wine, called Insignia.  It was among the first Bordeaux blends to take center stage in Napa Valley.  They also do a late harvest Riesling, one of the better versions in the Valley.

For three decades, Insignia has been at the forefront of quality Napa wines and will likely continue to be for generations to come. For a wine of the month club, it makes sense to know exactly where the best is made, right?
