Part of Kendall Jackson, they’re too well know (and too well distributed) for us to include in any of our monthly wine clubs, but that doesn’t mean Cardinale doesn’t make good wine. In fact, the wine is really quite good. Production sits around 50,000 cases a year, predominantly from two esate vineyards, both around 60 acres each.
The shining star according to most is the small section of To Kalon, which has helped with the incredible scores being produced by the 1 Cabernet they produce in each vintage. 2011 is a great example of what’s happening, Antonio Galloni (if you aren’t familiar, he was set to take over from Robert Parker, before he started his own site) gave the wine 96 points. For what was a challenging vintage across Napa Valley, that’s pretty darn impressive!
