Bergevin Lane Vineyards was started by two friends, with a simple and straight forward idea: bring the great variety of Washington wines to the forefront of the world of wine.  Here’s the difference between what someone might say about these wines in Walla Walla, versus what someone would attempt in say Napa Valley: these are cheap.

The majority of the 11,000 yearly case production goes into their Calico labels, the red is priced at $15, which for someone accustomed to Napa and Sonoma prices: seems incredible.

Quality is top of the line, especially at the upper tier.  Bergevin Lane Vineyards makes a Princess Syrah from Walla Walla fruit and consistently sees scores in the low to mid 90 range from major wine critics. It’s the type of thing that we’re really interested in, having been called one of America’s best wine clubs by Forbes Magazine because we seek out exactly these type of smaller production outfits.

Bergevin Lane Vineyards has made a name for itself largely on account of their Syrah, but they should get more attention for their women management team as does J Vineyards in Sonoma.  But, the reality is just that these are excellent wines!
