Central Coast AVA
One of the largest AVA’s in the state, the Central Coast AVA begins in Santa Barbara County and travels all the way to the San Francisco Bay in the north. It isn’t commonly known that the SF Bay is actually closer to the middle of the state of California, rather than the furthest northern point which many people typically assume. 100,000 total acres are planted and the total is growing almost by the day. Some truly incredible wine is made here from Syrah and other Rhone varietals all the way to Pinot Noir and other cooler weather types.
