Washington’s Label Language:
The state of Washington, to their credit, has adopted the toughest naming standards in the industry.
To be labeled a place name such a Wala Wala Valley 100% of the grapes must be grown there, instead of 85% which is the federal standard.
The word reserve may only be applied to 10% of the total production of each winery and may not exceed 3,000 total cases per winery.
