Pinot Blanc

In Alsace they don’t grow Chardonnay, but Pinot Blanc is the next best thing. A cousin of Pinot Gris and the suddenly famous Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc is the one grape in Alsace that is typically blended, despite wine laws which prevent it. Pinot Blanc is often blended with Auxerrois, which many winemakers feel helps to round the flavor profile and give it a longer finish.
