Pineau d'Aunis

Pineau d'Aunis is actually the same grape as Chenin Noir, which itself isn't nearly as famous as either grape whcih carries a similar name (Chenin Blanc or Pinot Noir).

Pineau d'Aunis is a French grape from the Loire Valley which is blended with white wine grapes to craft many versions of Rose in the region.  The white wine grape most closely associated with Pineau d'Aunis is Arbois.

There isn't a large amount of varietal specific Pineau d'Aunis created and what is created barely makes it out of the Loire Valley, let alone reaching the United States wine market.
