Nero d’Avola

Compared very often to Syrah, the grape shows its best flavor characteristics in Sicily where it is often described as wild and untamed. Paired easily and well with many hearty foods, this is a favorite wine of many people whom travel to Sicily.

Only recently has it begun to be exported in any usable quantity (and quality!) to overseas markets, this should be one of the grapes to gain in market share over the next few years as more and more people become familiar with the great things happening in Italian wine.
