Horse Heaven AVA

Another interesting name for an AVA (the Washington vintner association might have a good idea here) this AVA holds two distinctions among wines in the Pacific Northwest. To start, it has the oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vines in the region and secondly (as well as more importantly) it crafts some of the most distinctive , supple and dark red wines produced in the new world, non Napa edition.

The most famous wineries in the state all source grapes from this region, including Andrew Will, Ste Michelle and Quicelda Creek.
