Gropello

Gropello is a lesser wine grape grown almost exclusively in the Lombardy region of Italy.  A medium bodied red wine similar in style to many others produced in Italy the grape has struggled to gain acceptance even in neighboring portions of Italy, let alone internationally.  The best versions of Gropello showcase a medium body with a clean and soft sensation on the palate and flavors most consistently showing hints of strawberry, cherry and black pepper.
